What is it?

Dicamba DMA, or Dimethylamine salt of Dicamba, is a systemic herbicide that has been utilized for decades to manage a wide range of broadleaf weeds in agricultural fields, particularly in crops like corn, soybeans, and cereals. Dicamba is highly soluble in water, making it easy to mix and apply in various farming scenarios. It is known for its ability to move within the plant, ensuring thorough coverage and effectiveness in weed control. Dicamba can be used both as a post-emergent and pre-emergent herbicide, depending on the product formulation and application timing. It's known for its ability to control a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds, making it a valuable tool for farmers and land managers. The effects of Dicamba can usually be seen within a few days of application, with complete weed control occurring within a week or two, depending on the environmental conditions and the weed species targeted.

How does it work?

Once Dicamba DMA is applied to weeds, it is absorbed through the leaves and translocated throughout the plant. As a synthetic auxin, Dicamba disrupts normal plant growth by causing abnormal cell expansion, twisting, and curling of leaves, and ultimately, plant death. This process can begin as soon as a few hours after application, with visible symptoms appearing within 24 hours. Complete weed control can be observed within a few days to a week, depending on environmental conditions and the weed species being targeted. Dicamba DMA is effective as a post-emergent herbicide, making it ideal for controlling weeds that have already sprouted. However, it can also be used in certain pre-emergent applications to prevent weed growth before they emerge.
