What is it?

Metsulfuron Methyl is a systemic herbicide belonging to the sulfonylurea family. It is known for its high potency at low application rates, making it an economical choice for weed control. With its low use rate and low cost MSM is one of the most economical herbicides available on the market. MSM provides both post emergence control and pre-emergence residual effect. MSM is typically used in agricultural settings, forestry, and turf management to control a wide range of broadleaf weeds and some grassy weeds. It is available in both granule and liquid formulations.

How does it work?

Metsulfuron Methyl is absorbed by the foliage and roots of the plants. Once inside, it translocates to the growing points of the weed, where it inhibits the ALS enzyme. This inhibition prevents the plant from producing essential amino acids, leading to halted growth and eventually, the death of the weed. The effects of MSM can typically be observed within 1 to 2 weeks after application.
